Places to eat on Sanibel
Your unit should have a "Dining Guide" with menus provided. If you do not have one there are extras in the Operations Office. Some suggestions are:

  • Hungry Heron - Great food 254 menu selections. TV's with kid programs, family atmosphere.
  • Grandma Dot's - Good food, casual, marina, moderate prices
  • Timbers - Very good, specialize in seafood-moderate-very popular
  • McT's - Good food-seafood-children friendly
  • Sanibel Steakhouse - Very good steaks, expensive
  • Sanibel Grill - Sports bar, good food
  • Lazy Flamingo - Good food, fun, casual
  • Matzaluna's - Italian, good food, great décor, moderate prices
  • Dolce Vita - Excellent dining, expensive, great music, upscale

Timely Tips:
  1. Buy your groceries off the island. Walmart or Publix. Jerrysfood.com will take your order and deliver to the condo for $20.00. They are on the island at 472-5777.
  2. Traffic on Periwinkle can be bad at 5PM during the season. Use West, Middle & East Gulf Drive.
  3. Noseums (tiny flying critters) like the grassy, no wind conditions at dusk. Use Skin-So-Soft (Avon). If you get bit use rubbing alcohol or spray benadryl.
Things to do:
Canoe in Tarpon Bay, Drive through Ding Darling refuge, go to the shell museum, drive to Captiva, rent a boat at the marina, fish off the pier, bike the entire island, golf at Beachview or The Dunes, shop at Periwinkle Place or others on the island. Eat breakfast at the Lighthouse Café or the Sanibel Café, watch for the green flash at sunset, walk all 14 miles of beach, pick up shells, watch a sunset on Captiva, take a sunset cruise, go ocean fishing, do nothing, play tennis, sit on the beach, buy suveniers, visit the factory outlets, go to a play, sundaes at the clubhouse, beach walk with Linda, relax, relax, relax.
